It was ever present that parts of New York City was a hell hole from the seventies to the early nineties until the arrival of Rudy Giuliani. I know this because i was around it from a kid to my early twenties. My first experience in NYC was when i was seven years old. My father said hold my hand and don't look at anyone as we were walking in Time Square. I of course peaked as a child would, and was amazed at the debauchery that was going on. I was very scared of the environment and even more scared because my father was nervous, and he was a marine. As i grew older and began to frolick about the city and would never go to the area around the Intrepid at night. At that time it was the ladies of night along with there pimps and drug dealers.  Until he came and change what is New York City of the twenty first century. Were Time Square was a hell hole is now a little Disney world. The area around the Intrepid  has restaurants nice bars and expensive apts. I have never seen a politician do something to fix a problem like Giuliani did when he was Mayor.

    I have never seen a politician do something so visible in my life and you cannot deny his effectiveness as a mayor and what a good man could do with a government that Rudy did with his. I have not even brought out the quality of life programs he issued. Moving the homeless into shelters were there was food and comfort for them. The hundreds of officer's walking the streets every day and night to secure us. He brought in not only more tourists but more corporations into the city. The reputation of the city was very low before he came in, he essentially made it hip to be a new yorker. I can remember getting a cab at the port authority in the mid nineties was a breeze, in the late nineties i must have waited on line for thirty minutes. Granted it was annoying to wait that long, but the point is he brought more of tourist and business people in.

    In Conclusion, i am sure someone else could put all kinds of statistics about Giuliani to make him look even better. I simply do not have time to fumble though every thing he did. I know what changes occurred and the difference he made in the city.

I belive he will make a excellent President
